LIGHTS HOLIDAY PROGRAM JULY 2011
What a fabulous time was had by all participants.
A brilliant show was the result.
A record number of students attended the Bright Lights July Holiday Workshop. For the first time the students were split into 4 groups. This enabled each group to have a session of musical theatre, a session of singing, a session of drama and a session of dance. All range of performance was explored.
There were many new students at this program and they all fitted into the program remarkably well. All new students showed great enthusiasm, excellent focus and an abundance of talent.
Well done to the parents and students on their costuming. What wonderful parents we have at Bright Lights. Costuming is always such a rush given the 4 day timetable. One bonus for the older students was the opportunity to be rather adventurous in the application of make-up, costuming and hair extensions.
Students who had attended previous holiday programs are becoming so professional at performing. The older group was exceptional, especially in their rendition of “Time Warp” and the production of their drama piece “The Winner Is”.
We look forward to the continual development of these students as they extend their range of talent and progress their skill level to even greater heights.
We extend a special thank you to our teachers. Bec, as usual, is the consummate professional at musical theatre. We welcomed Jesse who added a whole new enthusiasm and rock dynamic to the singing section. Michelle was also able to take a dedicated group for dancing and “Footloose” was full of energy. Brian enjoyed each drama section but was especially fond of group 3’s production of “Auditions”.
We look forward to October for our next holiday program.
